Ballantine’s Whisky collaborated with acclaimed musician Reeps One to launch the True Music Series at Printworks. The innovative platform has been created to share and visualise music, and transform Ballantine’s Finest and 12-Year-Old whiskey into a real work of art.

Reeps One is regarded as one of the most creative and technically gifted vocalists of his generation, with an originality and technique surpassed by none.

Bridging the gap between audio and visual communication, the musician has combined his passions for music and art to produce an audiovisualiser; a speaker containing liquid which is illuminated with coloured lighting. Using the vibrations passing through the liquid, the audiovisualiser creates artistic visualiations as the track is performed.

For this event, Reeps One made full use of epic audio-visual facilities to present an immense showcase of his famous audio-visualiser, which transformed his original track, ‘Surfaces’ into 360˚ art projections in Room 2 of The Press Halls. The projections were designed to mimic the new aesthetic Ballantine’s Limited Editions.

The crowd filmed the whole thing whilst sipping on Ballantine’s cocktails. The unique fan-filmed footage was then used for the track’s music video, which dropped only 24 hours later, via DJ Mag.

Kerb street food royalty ‘Luxury Flats’ were on hand to fuel the crowds, serving up Ararat flatbreads stuffed with Sam and Jake’s favourite Asian flavours, with fennel kimchi, pickles, pickled chillies, hot sauce, mirin yoghurt and market salad.

Claire Marshall, Senior Account Manager at M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment said of the event, “Just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your help in the run up to, and during, Tuesday’s show. The event was a massive success with a delighted Reeps One, Ballantine’s clients, guests and fans. We’ve had such lovely feedback so far and couldn’t have done it without your fantastic support. You’ve been a brilliant team to work with and I couldn’t recommend working with you, and the awesome Printworks space, more.”

The Press Halls are the jewel in the Printworks’ crown and retain original machinery and industrial features. The two huge, fully sound-proofed rooms offer two floors of jaw-dropping event space, suitable for large-scale experiential events, immersive theatre, filming and live music.
