Some Voices have picked out 5 tracks that represent the iconic Studio 54 sound, giving a few clues to what you can expect at  when their 500 strong choir descend on The Press Halls this April.

1. Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough – Michael Jackson

“Possibly the best intro to any song in the history of music. The musicianship, production and vocal delivery is second to none on this record.”

2. Are You Ready (Do the Bus Stop) – Fatback Band

“Full on dance encouragement vibes. Its great to incorporate some funk and dancing into the night, and this track both things perfectly.”

3. I’m Coming Out – Diana Ross

“One of the most joyous songs we could possibly think of. We feel the music transcends any message that it lyrically may convey, but this is to date the song that Diana Ross opens every show, and the instrumental and vocals have that undeniable Nile Rodgers production. We couldn’t possibly do a show inspired by Studio 54 and not have Diana and Nile feature.”

4. Another Star – Stevie Wonder

“Again, such a celebratory vibe. We love the all the brass parts, and for the first time we’ll have live brass in the band, so its a great opportunity to showcase the musicians, on top of being a fantastic song with plenty of opportunity for singing along.”

5. I Feel Love – Donna Summer

“This encapsulates the sex, drugs and rock n roll ethos behind Studio 54. From the opening synth pads this track takes you straight into the world of the late 70’s, and has all the drama and dynamic to take everyone in the venue on a real journey.”

Some Voices presents Studio 54 to London’s brand new cultural and music space Printworks on April 27th. Final tickets remaining via Printworks.
